AUTHENTIC medieval combat fighting has been taking place at Ludlow Castle.
Warm-up bouts for the Heritage Cup took place yesterday and the action continues today with representatives from Scotland, the north of England, London, the south of England, and the Midlands.
While combat fighting has been going on for a long time, the Heritage Cup is a new competition and this is the second consecutive year the castle has hosted the event.
"It's a good family event so we organise other entertainment as well," said Sonja Belchere, castle custodian.
Other activities included authentic archery, where the equipment chosen is based on the size of the person using it, and a display by Black Mountains Falconry.
