A PLEA has been made for a final push as ‘Three Weeks in Ludlow’ comes to a climax this weekend.

The Fringe events that are part of the festival are reporting good ticket sales including a number of sell outs but there are still tickets left for a number of big events over the closing three days.

It all comes to a close on Sunday (July 3) with a party at Ludlow Brewery that 24 hours earlier will feature a show by cross-over soprano Alice Beams.

One of the biggest events as the three weeks come to an end is a performance by The Lord Chamberlain’s Men of Shakespeare’s Much Ado about Nothing on the Millennium Green tomorrow evening (Friday, July 1).

This is Shakespeare presented as it would have been done in the time of the writer.

Another show that is getting good reviews is ‘Just Like That’ which is a Tommy Cooper style performance that can be seen at Ludlow Methodist Church.

“It has been an excellent Fringe with a lot of great shows and some very good feedback from performers and audiences,” said Sam Cole from The Fringe.

“But the tendency to book late is a problem especially as some of the venues are small and we hate having to turn people away,” she said.

One of the shows where this could be an issue is ‘The Austerity Games’ being performed at ‘The Sitting Room’ in the Blue Boar pub.

“It is a great place but places are limited so I urge people to book,” added Sam Cole.

“People who book late risk being disappointed and we hate this.”

One disappointment has been the cancellation of the Children’s show ‘Bubbles with Milkshake'.

“The performer is stuck in Eastern Europe having suffered a hernia and it is such a physical show that there is no choice but to cancel,” said Sam Cole.

She added that visitors have come to Ludlow to enjoy the arts from all over the country.
