LUDLOW Ladies have been told that that they are not welcome at the Showtime Stadium unless they pay the full cost to use the facilities.

Stadium spokesman Matt Davies said that the team have never supported any of their fund-raising events and will have to pay £90 if they want to stay there.

"We asked them to support us to raise money for the club, but they said they didn't need to do anything," said Davies.

"Every team has to pay £90 to play, but the girls only pay £45.

"If they aren't going to fundraise or support us or pay the complete amount to play there.

"I spoke to their manager Kevin Powell and explained everything to them and that it's a non-negotiable decision."

Powell's team lost 3-2 to Cookley Ladies in Herefordshire and Worcestershire League Division One game, but had to play the game at Leominster's Bridge Street home.

Powell said that the side still play under the Ludlow banner and trained at Cleobury Leisure Centre to prepare for the season.

"We have been told that we are not welcome to play at the stadium at the moment because we did not support a gig a couple of weeks ago," said Powell

"I have had a conversation with Matt Davies and he has offered us to use the pitch, but it's now down to cost.

"I will see what the girls say, because it is up to them."
