JAMES Pratt scored a hat-trick for Ludlow Hockey Club in their emphatic 4-1 win against Stafford in Warwick Printing West Midlands League Premier Division.
Tom Crump was drafted in for his first league game in goal due to David Hughes being unavailable.
But he had little to do and, despite Ludlow finding it difficult to score, their persistence eventually paid off.
Richards and Pratt scored in quick succession before Stafford pulled one back before the break.
But Pratt scored twice more after the break to secure the win.
Ludlow 2nd were also celebrating following a 3-2 win against Pershore.
Jake Watts opened the scoring after six minutes before Pershore struck back.
Tom Aston restored Ludlow's lead before Tyler Davis added a third.
Pershore did score again but Ludlow held on for the win.
Ludlow 3rd lost 5-2 to an experienced Stafford side in a game that did not have any umpires.
The away team only brought nine players, but they still had too much class for Ludlow.
