CHURCH Stretton boss Paul Smith says his players must show more commitment if they are to avoid being dragged into a relegation scrap in the Mercian Football League Premier Division.

His comments came after his side fell to a 5-1 defeat against Childs Ercall,

Smith admitted he had trouble fielding a full complement of players.

"I struggled to get eleven players together for the weekend, we had so many drop out that I had to get my boots on for the first time in 12 months.”

Smith says he has never tasted relegation before in his career and has called on his players to up their game before it’s too late. “We’ve got two massive games coming up against Ketley and Prees, if we don’t win them then I really fear for our safety.”

In Division 1, Bishop's Castle Town ran out 2-1 winners against Donnington Community Sports, which puts them level on points with fourth placed Rock Rovers.

Brown Clee secured an impressive 1-1 draw against leaders AFC Broseley, while Clee Hill were not in action.
