DEPARTING head coach Adam Fear signed off with Ludlow Swimming Club in the third and final round of the Mercian Summer League at the Tamworth Snowdome.

The team finished fifth in the event and Fear, who is relocating to Brighton, said: “The squad had trained hard and swam with grit and determination.

"The swimmers have been a pleasure to coach over the past few years.

"They are capable of bigger and better things and I feel my time has been well spent and I would do it all again in an instant.

"This club has been a big part of my life as both a swimmer and coach and Ludlow Swimming Club will always have a place in my heart."

A number of swimmers made their competitive debuts in the competition over the last few rounds and many didn't only swim in their own age groups but older categories too and still racked up the points.

The club have appointed Sandra Burgess as their new head coach.

She comes with lots of experience and enthusiasm, having taught swimming for the last ten years, and will bring new ideas and training methods to the club. For more information visit their website at ludlowsc.org.uk
