SOME of the region’s top young amateur fighters will descend on Ludlow Racecourse for Ludlow Amateur Boxing Club’s popular annual dinner fight night next Friday evening (October 9).

The card will include five local boxers, one of whom, 11-year-old Max Weaver, will be having his first competitive bout at an event that is growing in stature year-on-year.

Jack Barnfield, Chadd Woodfield, son of Ludlow ABC chairman and coach Colin, George Sloan (from Clee Hill) and Chris Preece (from Cleobury Mortimer) are the other Ludlow Amateur BC prospects who will be looking to impress.

There will be between 11 and 13 bouts on a value-for-money evening and Colin Woodfield said: “It should be a knockout show.”

Dinner tickets at £35 are still available, which include a ringside seat and a three-course dinner. Doors open at 6.30pm, dinner is served at 7pm (formal dress is required) with the boxing due to start at around 8.30pm.

Ring Colin Woodfield on 07866-502485 if you are interested in a dinner ticket or any of the various sponsorship and advertising deals on offer.

Standing tickets on the night will cost £12 and there will also be an auction of boxing and sports memorabilia.
