BEN Griffiths hit 164 as Cleobury Mortimer won by 200 runs against Avoncroft.

Griffths was the star of the show as the visitors' decision to bat first backfired with the hosts clocking up 300-9 in the Worcestershire County League Division Three.

In reply, James Manley grabbed 5-18 and Griffiths added 4-27 to his century as Avoncroft were bowled out for exactly 100.

A LOW-scoring afternoon in Division Two of the Shropshire County League as Church Stretton were dismissed for 89 in pursuit of 95 by Prees.

Christopher Cathrall (4-47) and Martin Williams (4-4) after three wickets each for Adam Groom, Keith Yapp and Saif Khalid had seemingly put the home side on top.

There was little to cheer for Bishop’s Castle in Reserve Division 3 as they slipped to defeat at Welshpool.

In Marches League Division Two, Knighton-on-Teme were bowled out for 100 as they lost by six wickets against Almeley (103-4).
