HENRY Anton’s five-wicket haul kept Tenbury Wells on course for the Worcestershire County League Division Five title.

Anton took 5-15 from 9.3 overs as Old Hill 3rd crumbled for 109 in 39.3 overs.

The decision to put the visitors in to bat after winning the toss clearly paid dividends for stand-in skipper Aaron Morris.

Matthew Jones had Daud Ahmed caught at the wicket by David Hunt and his fellow opener Rajdeep Chana had his stumps dislodged by Anton.

Mark Yarranton picked up the wicket of Hasan Ahmed for 27 which proved to be the highest score of the innings.

Jack Farrar had Ismail Mohammed caught by Paul Higgins for 20 and when Aaron Morris got one past Asif Ahmed for Hunt to grab the stumping Old Hill were in deep trouble.

Anton proved to be just too good for the away side as the tail crumpled and Farrar also helped himself to a second scalp, finishing with 2-32 from seven overs.

Morris fell for 10 as Tenbury set out on their reply and Andrew Adams followed him for 17, both caught behind by Ahmed off Ismail Mohammed.

Anton then played a part with the bat making an unbeaten 34 with Tom Rawlings adding 37 before being bowled by Hasan Ahmed.

Hunt came in for a brief stay finishing not out without scoring as Anton capped a fine all-round performance.

Victory put Tenbury 21 points ahead of nearest rivals Hallow.

He took 6-35, his first ever five-wicket haul which made him one of the youngest ever players to achieve the feat for the club.

Tenbury posted 144 all out before Duce ripped apart Sapey for 93.
