CHILD’S Ercall leapfrogged Clee Hill United in the Sportsjam Mercian Regional League with a 2-0 victory over their rivals.

A goal from Grant Cowan and Martin Lalley’s fourth of the season consigned United to fourth with 10 points from six matches to date.

Clee Hill entertain ninth-placed Shifnal United on Saturday (3pm), who put out a public appeal for a first-team goalkeeper on Twitter last week.

Church Stretton were without a league fixture and played out a 3-2 friendly defeat at Bishop’s Castle Town.

Bishop’s Castle remain in limbo with the Football Association of Wales refusing permission for their switch to the Montgomeryshire League. Stretton return to league action with a trip to Premier Division backmarkers AFC Bridgnorth reserves on Saturday (3pm).

In Division One, Brown Clee ran riot in a 10-0 demolition job on rock-bottom Denso.

Joshua Partridge and Tom Everall each nabbed hat-tricks with a brace for James Byatt. Gareth Horler was also on the score sheet to hand Brown Clee a fourth win in five outings.

They sit fourth, six points off the summit with up to two games in hand on the teams above them going into Saturday’s home clash with FC Oswestry Town reserves (3pm).

Elsewhere, Craven Arms Town lost 3-1 at St Georges United and travel to Albrighton on Saturday (3pm).

Chris Breakwell, Dan Gower and Luke Pugh were on target as Woofferton beat Kington Town reserves 3-1 to return to the Herefordshire FA County League Division One summit.

Woofferton defend their position at home to Ludlow Colts on Saturday (2.30pm).

In the Herefordshire Junior Cup, Tenbury Town whacked Civil Service 11-3 on their own patch.

Mark Boucker rattled in five with Alex Bright, Declan Bright, Adam Everall, Harry Moran and substitutes Owen Edwards and Jack Moran all getting in on the act.

Orleton Colts reserves exited the competition with a 1-0 defeat to their Leominster counterparts. Ethan Stinton grabbed the solitary strike.

Dan Griffiths was on target for Ludlow Colts but they allowed a 2-1 half-time lead to slip in a 3-2 reverse at Shobdon.

In the Premier Division, Orleton’s first XI travel to Ewyas Harold on Saturday, while their reserves play Kington’s second string in Division One (both 2.30pm).
