PAST and present stars of Ludlow Hockey Club will be jetting off to America in the New Year to represent their country.

Current Ludlow attacker Ben Crump has been named squad manager of the England Masters men’s over-45 side for the Indoor World Cup in Virginia Beach in February.

He will be joined by former Ludlow skipper Vijay Chumber, now with Bridgnorth, who has been selected among the playing squad.

Closer to home, Ludlow’s first XI ended their outdoor calendar year with an unlucky 2-1 loss at Market Drayton last weekend, Brendan Pratt getting their goal.

This weekend, they are competing in the Midlands qualifying round of the England Hockey National Indoor competition at Aldersley Stadium
